About the Founder
Bernis Ngwane, MSN, APRN, FNP-C
Family Nurse Practitioner | Direct Primary Care Provider
Bernis Ngwane is a board-certified Family Nurse Practitioner committed to delivering personalized, relationship-centered primary care. With over 10 years of experience in family medicine, preventive care, and chronic disease management, Bernis founded Orock Direct Primary Care to provide a more accessible, compassionate, and patient-focused alternative to traditional insurance-based healthcare.
Guided by the belief that every patient deserves unhurried visits, transparent pricing, and a trusted partnership in their health journey, Bernis provides comprehensive primary care through the Direct Primary Care (DPC) model. This approach empowers patients with same-day or next-day appointments, extended visit times, and direct access to their provider—removing many of the limitations associated with conventional healthcare systems.
Bernis is highly experienced in managing a wide range of health needs, including chronic disease management such as hypertension, diabetes, and asthma; mental health concerns; women’s health; and acute care issues. Orock Direct Primary Care integrates evidence-based medical care with lifestyle, nutrition, and stress-management coaching to promote holistic wellness.
Her professional background includes extensive experience across inpatient and outpatient settings, including hospitals, long-term care facilities, community health programs, and ambulatory services. These diverse clinical environments have shaped her deep appreciation for continuity of care and strengthened her dedication to building long-term, meaningful patient relationships.
Outside of her clinical work, Bernis enjoys spending time with family, traveling, engaging in community outreach, mentoring future nurses, and cooking.
